What is Charcoal Relaxing Treatment?

We often get asked what is involved with the Charcoal Relaxing Treatment – and as it is one of the most popular relaxing treatments at Luxe we thought we would give you the lowdown!

What does charcoal relaxing do?  It smooths the hair without damaging or changing its texture, and also restores hair resiliency; humidity, rain or sweat will no longer affect the hairstyle – so no more frizzy hair! There are no fumes, irritation or discomfort while you are having it done.

What hairstyles work best? Charcoal relaxing treatment can be used on all hair types, including chemically treated hair (coloured, permed, relaxed, highlighted and bleached). It is excellent for getting rid of curly, frizzy, damaged, unhealthy, dull, mistreated hair.

Is charcoal relaxing permanent? No it is not, the treatment fades progressively as hair is washed and the wave or curl will gradually come back in up to 2 months. The hair will stay soft, shiny and healthy looking. The treatment also makes the hair very manageable.

How do I take care of my hair after treatment? Taking care of the hair after the Charcoal Relaxing Treatment is effortless.  Hair must not be washed for 3 days after the treatment and shampoo and conditioner (that does not contain sulfate) must be used after the treatment pro-long the relaxing outcomes

What about styling? The amount of time required to style hair will decrease dramatically, and in some cases it is wash and go. Others require some blow drying and minimum styling time.

What products are used for this treatment?  We have been using charcoal relaxing products made by Perfect Hair in the salon for the past ten years.
